Ita FitzGerald is a London-Irish writer-director based in London. Her debut feature film West The Road is currently in production in the west of Ireland for Stigma Films starring Imelda Staunton, Philippa Dunne, Charlie Murphy, Charlene McKenna and Genevieve O’Reilly.

Starting her career in broadcast television she has directed many factual shows such as Grand Designs Abroad, Property Ladder and A Place In The Sun. Working for 4Creative she has written and directed commercials and promos with household names such as Alan Carr, Sarah Beeny and Gok Wan. She has directed many episodes of BBC TV’s Doctors and her 2018 short film TMI picked up many awards on the International festival circuit. Other current projects: Doin’ Business a black comedy about a pensioner who is driven to dealing drugs, A Fistful of Novenas about A trip to Lourdes with two pilgrims who go rogue and end up on the run, and Deadly, A comedy TV series that has been optioned by Cowtown Pictures and is being developed with the help of Screen Ireland.
